	Brains, real name Hiram K Hackenbacker, has brain power and inventive genius beyond his time. Jeff Tracy contacted him shortly after conceiving the idea of International Rescue. Jeff realised that a mind of super ability would be needed to make the organisation a reality and Brains was the owner of that.
